Thanks for visiting my blog, here is a short biography about me.

I guess if I am going to keep blogging- I should update this!!

I am currently an English teacher in Hong Kong. This blog was set up as part of the ICT in TESOL module, during my MA studies at the University of Warwick in 2022. 

I also completed CELTA in 2021 at Coventry University.

Having spent a long tenure as a residential assistant on Warwick University's Pre-Sessional course, my interest in the world of ELT was formed, having spent several years in various administration jobs around Warwick University.

On this blog, you will find links to various blogs reviewing ICT tools that can be used as part of your TESOL teaching. The first 6 were the blogs for the module (sadly some of those tools are no longer available) 

There will also be links to my various reviews of particular eating establishments, as well as fiction writing that I occasionally do in my spare time.]

In my free time, I enjoy traveling (hoping to tick off many more places yet!)  A favourite hobby is a regular cinema trip (although have still not found a cinema better than the Coventry showcase yet). I also enjoy keeping fit and running regularly!

I know you are in cahoots, with Kahoot!

 Oh hello, me again. Second blog time. Today I am taking a look at Kahoot! a game based learning platform. Not to be confused with 'Cahoot' the online internet bank, which coincidently I used work at in the early 2000s, which sadly for the second blog in a row, reveals me to be an 'old git', anyway- on with the review. A Kahoot! put simply, is a multiple choice quiz that the user can create, in my case for learners, but this can easily be utilised by parents for extra learning or even social trivia nights with friends, (already I am planning a Lord of the Rings/Buffy Kahoot for my fellow nerds!)  But let's take a more in-depth look at the site: Organisation and Layout When I first clicked onto the Kahoot website, I won't lie, my initial reaction was "eww" what a dreadful home page, it's colourful, it's busy, it's packed with links.  Along with the sunshine.... there's gotta be a little rain sometimes Let me take you on a journey, dear reader. Let's imagine a simpler time. Toy Story- the first ever computer animated film in history has just released, Windows 95 is in every household- terrorising people with 'fatal exceptions' and 'Clippy'. A mobile phone was, unbelievably, used primarily to make phone calls, and me? well I was about to murder my annoying younger sister- as she had allowed my lovingly nurtured Tamagotchi to perish.
