 Hi, nice to meet you!         



Thanks for visiting my blog, here is a short biography about me.

I guess if I am going to keep blogging- I should update this!!  And now I should update this again as I'm no longer in Hong Kong.


I am currently an English teacher in Foshan, China. This blog was set up as part of the ICT in TESOL module during my MA studies at the University of Warwick in 2022. 

I also completed CELTA in 2021 at Coventry University.

Having spent a long tenure as a residential assistant on Warwick University's Pre-Sessional course, my interest in the world of ELT was formed, having spent several years in various administration jobs around Warwick University.

On this blog, you will find links to various blogs reviewing ICT tools that can be used as part of your TESOL teaching. The first 6 were the blogs for the module (sadly, some of those tools are no longer available) 

There will also be links to my various reviews of particular eating establishments, as well as fiction writing that I occasionally do in my spare time.]

In my free time, I enjoy travelling (hoping to tick off many more places yet!)  A favourite hobby is a regular cinema trip (although I have still not found a cinema better than the Coventry Showcase yet). I also enjoy keeping fit and running regularly!

 Oh hello, me again. Second blog time. Today I am taking a look at Kahoot! a game based learning platform. Not to be confused with 'Cahoot' the online internet bank, which coincidently I used work at in the early 2000s, which sadly for the second blog in a row, reveals me to be an 'old git', anyway- on with the review. Oh, Sandy. Well, you came and you wrote a blog, that I am reviewing today, Oh, Sandy

 A Blog about a blog, are you crazy? Firstly, welcome to my blog, I hope you will enjoy reading my (hopefully unique take) on various things. In this first blog post, I will be looking at  and reviewing the blog of Sandy Millin, who currently works freelance in the world of TEFL/TESOL.  Sandy has been active in the world of ELT since 2007, whence she completed her CELTA at Durham University.   To note- my review system will be a Nik-knack rating out of 5, with 5 Nik-knacks being a perfect score Upon first clicking on Sandy's blog, it has the unfortunate habit of 'auto scrolling' down the page, which is a somewhat of putting experience, regardless of the content. You and Me, and Steve. 250 word short story.

The following was my entry into a 250 word short story competition. Although not my favourite genre to write, it was good to write something less dark. The prompts I had to work with were:  Drama.  Action: Compromising.  Word: Stop. You and Me, and Steve. Jess and Phil. That was who it was supposed to be, so why is ‘he’ always here?’ Jess thought to herself glaring at Steve who chugged another beer, high-fiving Phil as they celebrated some sporting nonsense in the game they were watching. Phil waved his friend away, closing the door to be confronted by Jess, wearing a face like thunder. “Every day, same old story” she fumed. Steve had been coming over daily for weeks. “Sorry babe,” he mumbled, “You know he’s going through it with the divorce.” “Humph,” was the response.  Phil soothed, “You know I only have eyes for you”, “Prove it” Jess responded, “Tell him, he can’t come every day, from now only every other day”.
