(Im)patience is a virtue

I'm sure you are all patiently waiting for me to drop another blog :) So here is my latest piece of fiction writing.  The prompts I had to work with were:  Fairy Tale / A fashion statement / An impatient person. With a 2500 word limit. So without further ado, please enjoy: Grace and the Magical Kingdom of Mystopia Synopsis When the Queen of Mystopia meets a mysterious end, a new queen must be crowned, Can Grace, a 13-year-old teenager still mourning the loss of her mother overcome her evil stepmother's plan and prevent the kingdom from falling into darkness?               And the winner is Gracey! She couldn’t believe it, she had dreamed of winning a competition, any competition, but now, here she was winning the long-running quest of Mystopia to crown its new queen. Taking the stage with an effortless grace, a quality she always jokingly connected to her name, she began to address her adoring audience: “Although I’m only 13, I promise to always do my best by Mystopia.” Human

Well, it certainly doesn't feel like it was 2 months ago I wrote my last blog, I hope you enjoyed my spooky story.  Although I lived in Hong Kong, I never actually reviewed my favourite restaurant there at the time (well, maybe second after Saizeriya), but after returning to HK for a short break and visiting it once again with some mainland friends, the time has finally come, to review: Smokehouse Bar & Grill Mong Kok, Hong Kong   Location and layout Located in the bustling Mong Kok district, Smokehouse sits atop Langham Place, on the 13th Floor, and despite being one of a large selection of eateries stands out as one of the best in this particular mall. The layout is generously spaced out, with the choice to sit along the balcony, or within the restaurant itself. With plenty of tables, I've never had a problem being seated, even when it's heaving on a weekend evening. Langham Place is a 3-minute walk from Mong Kok MTR, so the location and layout are both excellent! 5

Short Ghost story

Well hello there,  The below was my entry into a 250-word 'micro fiction' story contest: Requirements: Ghost Story -Genre Word to use: Person Action: Resting Crimson Whispers ‘Twas a wicked November evening, winds battered the once proud windows. The building, my building, which once stood as a monument to greatness, now lay in a state of disrepair. I often think back, to time spent in the luxurious living room, sipping the finest red a pretty penny could buy. I’d never considered myself a cynical person, but even I used to occasionally shudder when a faint breeze would flutter the room, I’d shake it off as my imagination. After all, no man, dead or alive, would have the audacity, nay temerity to obtrude with my business. I’d grown stronger as I aged, whilst creatures bellowed into the night, and man fought with man, with the inevitable conclusions of war. I focused on taking what was mine and doing it in plain sight. It’s what afforded me such a lavish lifestyle. The young

I cannot show you everything, but unlike Moira, I CAN show you one thing, and that is my review of : The Cheesecake Factory Beijing Opening hours:11AM - 10PM Following my brief sojourn in the UK to work at a summer school, I began my new teaching position as a University Teacher in Zhangjiakou, Northern China.  Having been here for a few months now and sampled many restaurants, my interest was piqued  when I heard a rumour that 'The Cheesecake factory' might well offer the best Western food in China.  So I gathered two local Zhangjiakou residents and headed to Beijing, taking a ghastly early morning train we arrived in Hutong early enough to grab a Peets coffee, which is now my coffee shop of choice.  Fully caffeinated and in the knowledge that The Cheesecake Factory had just opened, we began the short walk from mall to mall. I'd heard that the prices in the Cheesecake factory were a little on the pricey side, and it certainly felt we were in the right place for that to
